One of the finest RPGs on the PC Engine, distinguished by its rare use of Celtic mythology and its theme of romantic love between a man and a woman. The game features a collection of majestic background music that perfectly matches its emotionally engaging worldview, visual scenes, and story—truly a set of must-listen masterpieces. In addition to the main storyline, the game offers plenty of depth, such as searching for rare weapons unique to each character, ensuring gameplay that never grows dull. In a distant, ancient world, the protagonist Kael sets out on an adventurous journey to rescue Clare, a maiden of the heavenly realm and his fiancée, who has been abducted by monsters. Unbeknownst to him, however, a plot to bring about the revival of the Demon King Lucifer—and the destruction of the world itself—lies in the shadows. The game introduced groundbreaking elements such as a party system of up to five characters, while also delivering a poignant and bittersweet story centered on the relationship between Kael and Clare.
